The Partners
sportscotland
sportscotland is the national body for sport development in Scotland. Our goal is to see more people participating in sport and enjoying its benefits. We want the whole Scottish population to be involved, from primary schoolchildren to elite athletes.
We rely upon working in partnership with public, private and voluntary organisations to achieve this goal. As a non-departmental public body we work closely with the Scottish Executive, advising Scottish Ministers and implementing Scottish Executive policy for sport and physical recreation.
We also play an active role in promoting ethical participation in sport through a wide range of policies and programmes.
National Museums Scotland
A world class museums service that informs, educates and inspires.
The National Museum of Scotland are the Royal Museum, Museum of Scotland, National War Museum of Scotland and the Granton Centre (Edinburgh), Museum of Flight (East Lothian), Museum of Scottish Country Life (East Kilbride) and Shambellie House Museum of Costume (Dumfriesshire)
Over one million people, from all over the world, visit our Museums every year. Our mission is to preserve, interpret and make accessible for all, the past and present of Scotland, of other nations and cultures and of the natural world. NMS cares for and encourages access to collections which have international, national, regional and local importance. Over the past decade NMS has had many notable achievements including the opening of three new Museums - the Museum of Scotland, the Museum of Scottish Country Life and the National War Museum of Scotland – as well as an excellent record of significant research, successful special exhibitions, and learning programmes at its museums and in communities across Scotland.
